For 13 years The Breakfast Club has very much been a family business. My sister in-law Ali and I opened it in 2005 and we’ve held on very tightly since. It’s our baby. But like with everything in life, it has to grow and spread its wings which is why we’re looking for investment.
We’re extremely excited to announce the launch of our Crowdfunding campaign to support the next stage of our growth and we can’t think of a better group of people to do this with than the people that have made this all possible. Our customers, our staff, our family, our friends and the various different people we’ve worked with over the years.
There are numerous ways to raise investment and we’ve explored many of them. We’ve heard during this process that Crowdfunding might be the easiest and best fit for The Breakfast Club. We can agree with best fit, but easiest? As Spiderman’s Uncle Ben once said ‘With great power comes great responsibility’. The idea of having friends, family and customers backing your business is thrilling, but the weight of responsibility to deliver a result for the people who’ve put their trust in you is huge. These are the people we’ve grown up with, the people we work with and the people we’re lucky enough to count as our customers. Believe us when we say, our team will work their socks off to make this a huge success for everyone.
And in true Breakfast Club style, we’re doing this with a twist. We’re looking to open two cafes – Breakfast Club 12 and Breakfast Club 13 . With BC 12 there will be the usual dedication to creating something special, something a little bit different. But it’s BC 13 that’s getting us really excited. We’ve always been proud of the work we’ve done with ‘Good Day’ our charities and community programme. Our 13th cafe will be our Good Day cafe. A cafe set up to support its local neighbourhood. A cafe built to offer a hub for local community groups, a cafe that offers employment and opportunity to people from all sections of that community.
We firmly believe in the adage, ‘do well be doing good’. We hope you do to. We’d love you to join our ‘Club’.
